Streamed Performance: Are You There?
About Streamed Performance: Are You There?
Though live performances of "Are You There?" at Actors Theatre of Louisville were canceled as part of the community's efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19, the theater is thrilled to offer audiences the chance to experience the show from home through this video recorded performance of the world premiere play on it's opening night. The theater is offering tickets to their streamed performance in a "Pay What You Can" style so that you can choose your price based on what you can afford and how many people will be watching with you. Your ticket purchase goes directly back to supporting the theater as they plan for the future.
From the cacophony of telephone party lines, to CB radios on lonely highways, to the glory days of online chat rooms, technology has revolutionized the way we communicate with each other. But is it always for the better? In this collection of boldly original short plays, three writers and this season’s Professional Training Company explore the high-tech evolution of our social interactions. Are our devices getting in the way of quality, in-person time with our friends and family? Or could they be another pathway to intimacy?
