About NSO: Noseda conducts Prokofiev’s Sixth Symphony David Hardy plays Britten

Music Director Gianandrea Noseda returns to the Concert Hall to conduct Prokofiev’s rarely performed Symphony No. 6, a masterpiece hailed by many as his greatest symphony. Profoundly relevant for our times, Prokofiev’s work is a satisfying requiem to the composer’s spiritual journey to understand the tragedies of World War II and the mystery of death.

NSO Principal Cellist David Hardy takes the spotlight in Britten’s Cello Symphony, one of the composer’s most important and intense scores.
