About The Mirror

Intoxicating. Intimate. Incredible.

Heart-pumping acrobatics. Impossible physicality. Breath-taking stunts. Discover circus like you’ve never seen it before in The Mirror.

Experience contemporary circus in an exciting journey of self-discovery by internationally-acclaimed contemporary circus troupe, Gravity & Other Myths.

Bodies entwine, come together, and fall apart. Acrobats fly over each other, catch each other, push each other away, and pull one another close. The Mirror is about our inner and outer selves – and what we choose to share with the world.

The acrobatic performance incorporates LED walls, cameras and selfie sticks while award-winning composer and musician Ekrem Eli Phoenix sets the soundscape for thrilling aerials, sensual choreography, and dramatic physical theatre.

The Mirror, directed by Darcy Grant, is the company’s most physically and conceptually ambitious challenge to date, exploring the concept of identity through the language of contemporary circus.

Sydney Opera House presents in association with Gravity & Other Myths. Commissioned by Sydney Opera House and Chamäleon Theatre Berlin.
