THE WAR BOYS follows three young Texas men patrolling the Mexican border. As they wait and watch for people crossing illegally, they play a game that gives us insight into the influences that have shaped their views of the world. The play invites us to examine sexism, racism, and xenophobia present in contemporary American culture. It is also a study of the relationship between young men, sex and violence. Written in 1993, THE WAR BOYS is more timely than ever given the current political climate. This adults-only production contains coarse language and psycho-sexual scenes, but is reflective of how young American men behave in a culture that prizes aggression and violence.
