What to Watch For:

  • The Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play picks up right where the last Harry Potter film left off: on Platform 9 3/4, where Harry Potter, now married to Ginny Weasley and 19 years past the Battle of Hogwarts, is seeing his son Albus Severus off to his first year at the wizarding school.

  • The script for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was also released as “the eighth Harry Potter book” on the eve of July 31, 2016, Harry Potter’s birthday. That same night, on July 30, the show played its very first performance in London.

  • The premiere of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in Melbourne took place in January 2019, and was the third production following London and New York. Melbourne is the only city in Australia you can see the show.

  • The Princess Theatre, inside and out, underwent a total renovation specifically to host this unique production and ensure a magical experience. Check out the stunning facade and notice the carpet which is patterned with magical symbols.
