About Opera Australia presents Michael Fabiano in Concert

World-renowned American tenor Michael Fabiano makes his exclusive Melbourne debut.

Michael Fabiano made his electrifying 2015 Australian debut as the disillusioned doctor in Gounod’s Faust, winning a Helpmann Award for his efforts. Since then, the in-demand American tenor has returned to Sydney for celebrated performances as the melancholy Werther in Massenet’s opera and as the headstrong Edgardo in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor.

Now, for the first time, Melbourne – and Melbourne only – will get the opportunity to hear this Rolls Royce voice in an exclusive, one-night-only solo recital at Melbourne Recital Centre.

An acknowledged star of world stages, Fabiano’s career has seen him wow audiences from Milan’s La Scala and New York’s Metropolitan Opera to San Francisco, London, Paris, Berlin and Vienna.

Praised as an ardent and committed performer, his rich, heroic tenor boasts ringing top notes and is matched by dashing dramatics and a mesmerizing stage presence. He’s a natural in Puccini roles, from the fervent poet Rodolfo in La Bohème to the devil-may-care Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly and the intrepid Calaf in Turandot. He’s also prized as a Verdi tenor.

The only singer ever to have won both the Richard Tucker and the Beverly Sills Artist Awards in the same year, Fabiano demands to be seen and heard.
