About Bad Jews

Following two record-breaking, sold-out engagements, the original West End production of Bad Jews returns to the Arts Theatre in London for 11 weeks only!

Set over one night in a Manhattan apartment, a family’s younger generation battles it out to decide who is the most deserving of a precious heirloom passed down from their beloved grandfather. Would it be the bossy, overbearing and fanatical Daphna, her wealthy cousin Liam, his non-Jewish girlfriend Melody, or Jonah, who would prefer not to get involved?

More information about Bad Jews

Joshua Harmon’s debut play Bad Jews is back at the Arts Theatre for 11 weeks. See Bad Jews in London. Book Bad Jews tickets in London on TodayTix.

The Bad Jews play is set over one night in a Manhattan apartment. At the start of the play, family members and their partners come together to grieve over their grandfather’s passing. Conversations quickly turn to his possessions, especially a culturally significant heirloom which dates back to the Holocaust. It can’t be split equally between all four people. Someone must own it. But who?

Bad Jews drama ensues pretty quickly when each family member states their case. Should the heirloom belong to Daphna, Daphna’s cousin, Liam, Liam’s girlfriend Melody, or Liam’s brother, Jonah? Throughout Bad Jews, the foursome try to prove they’re more deserving than each other with plenty of consequences.

Like many of his plays, Joshua Harmon’s Bad Jews is a dark comedy which puts families and legacies under a microscope. The play is a decade old but continues to resonate with modern-day events. Discover who takes home the heirloom with Bad Jews tickets.
