What to Watch For

  • Diane Page directs Julius Caesar at Shakespeare’s Globe. Page’s previous directorial credits include Out West at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, a trio of plays that explored life in west London. Similarly, Page will add a modern twist to Julius Caesar — a 16th-century Shakespeare play.
  • The Roman emperor Julius Caesar personifies the Roman empire, however he didn’t rule for a great length of time. The former dictator only ruled from 46 - 44 BC, so just two years.
  • Julius Caesar is staged as part of Shakespeare’s Globe 25th anniversary season. The theatre opened in 1997 in honour of — and is built to look like — the original Globe Theatre.
