About SIX the Musical

Forget “divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived,” and welcome to the historemix! Six turns Tudor history on its head and puts Henry VIII’s wives centre stage. Be a part of the ultimate girl power musical in London and book Six tickets on TodayTix.

The 75-minute musical condenses years of Tudor history into upbeat pop bangers and emotional ballads to rival hits by Ariana Grande and Adele. Plus, the Six score won a Tony for Best Original Score. Who knew that women taking to the mic and sharing their story would be so popular?

By putting the band centre stage, Six in London brings a bolt of concert energy to the West End. London Theatre raved about the musical, saying that “Mixing pop concert with theatre is a big, joyful welcome to non-traditional audiences and in particular to younger ones.” This is the musical everyone is losing their heads over.

Historical events are often told by the winners — those who will go on to accomplish monumental feats. But, what happens when the voices of those who are normally silenced are put centre stage? At the start of Six, the women battle it out to see who had it worst. Hear Catherine of Aragon’s cries, Anne Boleyn’s fearful remarks, and Jane Seymour wail at their losses with Henry VIII. But then, as the sextet realise they can come together for the greater good, they decide to rewrite their narrative.

More information about SIX the Musical

We all know ‘that rhyme,’ but hear from the ladies themselves as they remix centuries of hurt into killer riffs and catchy medleys. Putting Henry VIII’s wives on a musical pedestal is all down to its creators, Lucy Moss and Toby Marlow, who wrote Six while in their final year at Cambridge University. The musical was already an internet sensation before it came to London, and then when Six opened in the West End in 2019, everybody wanted to go back in time with the Tudors.

With a female-only cast and band, the Six musical puts powerful women on the map. There’s also stunning outfits created by Gabriella Slade that allow each queen to showcase their individuality while all fitting and feeling like a girlband.

These queens fix each other’s crowns when they’re down, and you’ll discover there’s more to the Tudors than just the ruling monarchs. The only thing you wanna do is book tickets to Six on TodayTix today.

What to Watch For:

  • Look out for the queens walking on stage with neon ruff collars and glasses and get ready for a techno mashup for the ages.
  • Find out who Henry VIII would have “swiped right” for in a hilarious Tinder-inspired section where Tudor dating is brought to the 21st century.
  • Listen out for the Megasix, where all the songs are mashed up into an epic few minutes of fun.
  • The original London cast picked up a joint Olivier nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical. Although none of the cast now star in Six, they continue to perform together as a girl band named SVN. -
  • Fans world over listen to Toby Moss and Lucy Marlow’s original Six music; it’s clocked up over 300 million streams on Spotify.
