August Wilson’s Seven Guitars
The second production of the August Wilson Festival at Arena Stage, Seven Guitars is one of 10 plays in which Wilson explores Black American life in Pittsburgh during the 20th century. The main character of this play is the blues singer Floyd Barton, who has just been freed from prison and is seeking a second shot at life. Along the way, he connects the lives of seven friends, with blues music all throughout.
Chicago Cyber Monday theatre ticket deals
Among all of Chicago’s Cyber Sale deals, you can get tickets to shows by two acclaimed playwrights this season: Tracy Letts, with a return engagement of Bug after a 2020 run, and August Wilson, with the first play in his 10-part saga on the very stage where it debuted.

Gem of the Ocean
Gem of the Ocean premiered at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre in 2003, and now, the August Wilson play is back on that very same stage. The first play in his 10-part Pittsburgh Cycle, Gem of the Ocean sees a man named Citizen Barlow seek refuge in the home of a mystical Alabama matriarch, Aunt Ester. He’s also seeking redemption, which he finds when Aunt Ester takes him on a spiritual journey to the City of Bones. Tickets are available for up to 50% off.
Los Angeles Cyber Monday theatre ticket deals
Los Angeles is the home of shows that have taken Broadway and the West End by storm, including the North American premiere of a new musical and a new production of an epic historical tale.
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie
