Mostly 1’s

  • SIX – This historemix tells the story of Henry VIII’s wives in spectacular power ballad fashion. 
  • Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Who doesn’t love a sequel to a book, this time onstage? Find out what happened next in the story in this magical production. 
  • Come From Away – This feel-good musical is based on a true story and will warm your heart as you reflect on how small the world really is and why we need to take care of each other. 
  • A Strange Loop – This innovative musical is one of the few to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and you can find out what makes Michael R. Jackson’s personal story so powerful onstage. 

Mostly 2’s 

You’re a city-dweller who is always looking for the coolest thing to do! You might not consider yourself a theatre person, but when someone else takes you, you always have a good time. While a concert or a sports game might be your go-to, why not give the theatre a chance? You’ll love big musical comedies, fantastic pop bio-musicals, and dark humor. Lace up your New Balances, and check out one of these shows. 

  • The Book of Mormon – There’s a reason this musical from the creators of “South Park” is still one of Broadway’s biggest hits after almost a decade. Get ready for night of laughs and ballads at this crowd-favorite show. 
  • MJ – You’ll be thrilled at this all-out show where the King of Pop’s songs come to life like you’ve never seen before. 
  • Take Me Out – This Pulitzer Prize-winning play is set in the baseball locker room and dugout, where a player wrestles with his sexuality and coming out and the social consequences he’ll face as a result. 
  • Beetlejuice – The Ghost with the Most is back on Broadway, and you’ll have a hauntingly good time at this wacky show that has audiences talking. 
  • HangmenThree Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri screenwriter and Oscar winner Martin McDonagh returns to his theatrical roots with this dark comedy about, you guessed it, hangmen. 

Mostly 3’s

You’re a super creative Zennial! You’re a certified Gleek and probably have sparkle lights or a neon sign hanging in your bedroom. While you’re already a #theatrenerd, you can never have too much of a good thing. You love a twist on a classic musical or a big Tony-winning hit, so put down the vodka soda and get tickets to these shows. 

  • POTUS – Seven powerhouse women attempt to keep things funning smoothly as the most powerful man in America creates chaos. See comedy icons like Tony nominee Rachel Dratch, Lea DeLaria, Julie White, and more in this hilarious new show. 
  • Company – This gender-bent revival casts the central singleton Bobbie as a woman and moves the show into the 21st century, and the result is a poignant take on feminism, family, and friends. 
  • Dear Evan Hansen – Stop waving through a window and go see this heartbreaking and heartwarming Tony-winning musical about struggling to find yourself and looking for a place to belong. 
  • Hadestown – Go way down to this Tony Award winner and experience the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in a whole new way, with tunes by iconic songwriter Anaïs Mitchell. 

Mostly 4’s

You’ve got a green thumb and love the slow life. Casual comfort is what you crave, and you spend most of your time outdoors hiking or taking care of your garden and chickens in the backyard. You love a cult-favorite show and want to get to the theatre more to explore the latest buzziest shows. Here’s what you should see right now. 

  • Little Shop of Horrors – This horror musical follows a flesh-eating plant, but at its heart, it’s about love and wanting to be taken care of. You’ll be feeling suddenly emotional (and maybe a little scared) at this audience favorite. 
  • Chicago – This trailblazing musical, based on two real alleged murderesses, was and is a Broadway icon. See some of Bob Fosse’s most-famous choreographer and experience all the jazz for yourself. 
  • How I Learned to Drive – This Pulitzer Prize winner is making its Broadway debut with its original cast, Tony winner Mary Louise Parker and David Morse. It’s a theatrical event like no other, and you won’t want to miss it. 
  • Girl From the North Country – Bob Dylan’s songs become a folksy musical, penned by Conor McPherson, about a boarding house in Minnesota during the Great Depression and the cast of characters who inhabit it. 

Mostly 5’s

You’re the queen (or king) of self-care and style! You spend your mornings at Pilates and subway commute scrolling the Rent the Runway App, and you live for a mimosa at brunch and a cosmo at happy hour. A big night out at a glitzy musical or a celebrity-led play is your favorite kind of evening, so there’s lots to choose from on Broadway. See these shows. 

  • Moulin Rouge! The Musical – Yes you can can can at this larger-than-life production based on the 2001 Baz Luhrmann film about a nightclub performer and writer who have a forbidden love affair in turn-of-the-century Paris. The stage version is full of more than 70 new pop songs, and you’ll be singing and dancing the night away. 
  • Tina: The Tina Turner Musical – She’s simply the best! Tina Turner is a legend, and this musical, which features some of her greatest hits, shines a light on her turbulent past and the power and determination that took her to where she is today. 
  • Birthday Candles – Debra Messing stars in this play about a woman who celebrates turning a year older every year, as her life changes around her. Messing is a Broadway regular, and you won’t want to miss her latest outing! 
  • Plaza Suite – Don’t miss your chance to see Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick onstage together in this Neil Simon classic. The real couple star as three separate pairs in the show, and you’ll have a theatrical experience for the ages.
