It’s basically December, which means it’s time to get weird and wonderful while also wearing your huge puffer coat that’s basically a sleeping bag. We’ve got an awesome roster of events from feminist tours of the Met to a $10 holiday cirque show in Brooklyn to an immersive New Year’s Eve experience with an open bar. Basically, there’s lots of adventures to be had, so get out there!

Badass Bitches Tour of the Met
Manhattan, Uptown
Museum, Tour

The Badass Bitches Tour of the Met (created by our pals at MuseumHack) is perfect for feminists from all backgrounds, smashers of the patriarchy, and Beyoncé.  On this two-hour tour you’ll learn all about the awesome women represented at the Met and some badass lady artists who aren’t on display at the museum. The future is female, and guess what: The past was too.

Arcade Amerikana
Brooklyn, Industry City
Immersive, Performance Art, Multimedia

Cinema + performance art + rave culture = this one-of-a-kind experience in trendy Industry City. This experience explores our addiction to technology by immersing you directly inside a room of projections with a live DJ mixing an original score. TBH –  it’s kind of impossible to describe and that is what makes it so freakin’ awesome.

Cirque Dreams Holidaze
Brooklyn, Flatbush
Circus, Family-Friendly

Cirque meets Holiday musical in this spectacular, family-friendly, wild dream of a show. It all takes place in the amazing Kings Theatre, a hidden gem of Brooklyn, and you can get tickets this weekend for only $10. ‘Tis the season!

Manhattan, Midtown
Comedy, Stand-up

You’ve seen them on late night TV, “Last Comic Standing,” and Comedy Central, now see some of NYC’s most hilarious LGBTQ comedians live at Broadway Comedy Club. Every show has a new line-up of fresh talent that’ll satisfy your comedy fix.

Brooklyn, Fort Greene
Opera, Experimental

Opera meets the 80s in this modern re-telling of the classic Oedipus tale. Composed by the brilliant mind behind the hit opera adaptation of Anna Nicole Smith’s life (yes, that’s a real thing), this in-your-face production is sure to make a splash as part of BAM’s 2018 Next Wave Festival.

The Illuminati Ball
Brooklyn, Williamsburg
Immersive, New Year’s Eve, 21+

Ready to get wild? This is the New Year’s Eve event for you. Seriously. This event has an open bar, three floors of Illuminati-inspired immersive performances, fire, seductive circus, risqué ritual cermonies, and more. Be prepared to dress to the nines and don a mask that you’ll receive at the event. Heads up, there’s nudity so don’t go if that’s not your vibe.

The Sex and the City Hotspots Tour
Manhattan, Uptown

Are you more of a Carrie, or a Samantha? Whichever fabulous Sex and the City character speaks to your soul, this tour lets you follow in the footsteps of your favorite girlfriends and visit locations from the hit show’s most iconic moments.
