We love it when a TV show has a musical episode and our favourite fairytale fantasy, Once Upon A Time, is having one too! Airing this Sunday in America, most of us will be watching the all-singing, all-dancing episode on 10 May when it’s available on Netflix.

If you’re not familiar with the show, you’re six seasons behind so don’t attempt to binge it all before the musical episode airs. But to give you a quick heads up, years ago in the Enchanted Forest, Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) send their infant daughter Emma away to our world to protect her from the Evil Queen’s (Lana Parilla) dark curse.

Now all grown up, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) is the saviour of the town and has incredible magical powers. Over the seasons she’s reunited with her son Henry (Jared Gilmore), fallen in love with Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) and defeated a whole host of classic storybook characters.

Spoiler Alert! There might be plot spoilers below….

The musical episode, “The Song In Your Heart”, will revolve around the wedding between Emma and Hook, but in classic Once Upon A Time fashion, not everything goes according to plan. The threat of the Black Fairy (Jaime Murray) ruining the special day looms large over the ceremony.

In flashbacks, it’s revealed that Snow and Charming made a wish to protect their child which resulted in everyone in the Enchanted Forest singing their feelings. Something the Evil Queen is not best pleased with. But given that adult Emma and her son Henry are listed in the track list, perhaps the wish has come back into effect at the wedding.

It looks like we’ll see all of the main cast singing lead vocals except Robert Carlyle and Emilie de Ravin who play the trickster Rumplestiltskin and Belle.

Entertainment Weekly has reported that their will be eight songs included in the episode, written by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner.

1. “Powerful Magic” — Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas
2. “The Queen Sings” — Lana Parrilla, Lee Arenberg, Tony Amendola, Beverley Elliott, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas
3. “Love Doesn’t Stand a Chance” — Lana Parrilla
4. “Revenge Is Gonna Be Mine” — Colin O’Donoghue, pirates
5. “Wicked Always Wins” — Rebecca Mader
6. “Charmings vs. Evil Queen” — Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Lana Parrilla
7. “Emma’s Theme” — Jennifer Morrison
8. “A Happy Beginning” — Jennifer Morrison, Colin O’Donoghue, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Lana Parrilla, Rebecca Mader, Jared Gilmore, Once Upon a Time: The Musical Episode Chorus

Check out the video below to see Hook sing his solo number “Revenge Is Gonna Be Mine” – it’s definitely a little bit rock/Freddie Mercury inspired!

Don’t miss out on this special episode, airing on Netflix on 10 May!
