11 Theatre Cosplay Looks That You’ll Love
Summer is the season of comic-cons across the world, and they combine three things theatre lovers can relate to: incredible fans, great storytelling and kick-ass costumes. For the uninitiated, comic conventions bring together fans from all over the world to see live panel discussions about all things pop culture (comics and movies in particular), buy exclusive merchandise and artwork as well as meeting likeminded fans. Dressing in costume, or cosplaying (costume playing), is also a big part of the events – getting to dress as your favourite characters, creating props and sometimes performing in groups at cons make it a lot more like the theatre than you may have thought.
If you’re one of the thousands of people heading to the London MCM show in October or Dublin’s convention this coming weekend, here are some of our favourite theatre-themed cosplays to get you inspired to get dressed up and put on a show on the con floor. Or maybe you’re just trying to get a big head-start on your Halloween costume, either way, check out the incredible creativity of some cosplaying theatre fans!
