Central Square Theater, is a state-of-the-art theatrical arts facility where audiences find, under one roof, the distinctive repertoires of two award-winning, professional companies, The Nora Theatre Company and Underground Railway Theater as well as collaborative projects drawing on their creative synergy.
About Central Square Theater
Central Square Theater is a non-profit theatre tcentin Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is a collaboration of two separate theater companies—Underground Railway Theater, originally founded in 1976 in Oberlin, Ohio, and The Nora Theatre Company, founded in 1988 by Mary C. Huntington. With support from the Boston Foundation Arts Fund, the two companies combined forces and moved into the state-of-the-art Central Square Theater in 2008. They continue to maintain their distinct identities. The two companies together produce over 200 performances per year and reach an audiences of over 25,000 people. The Boston Foundation has cited Central Square Theater as, "one of the organizations that has contributed to making Greater Boston one of the most culturally rich cities in the world". The current artistic director of the Nora Theatre is Lee Mikeska Gardner. The artistic director of Underground Railway Theater is Debra Wise.

Transportation & Parking
Central Square boasts the most opportunities for parking in Cambridge. University Park @ MIT Garage is located at 55 Franklin Street. The garage has entrances on both Green Street and Franklin Street, and is adjacent to Le Meridien Hotel and Star Market. Parking is $5 with validation ticket when you enter after 5PM Monday through Friday or anytime on Saturday and Sunday. City of Cambridge Public Parking Lots: There are several parking lots along Bishop Allen Drive. Green Street Garage is located at 260 Green Street. The garage entrance is on the corner of Green Street and Pearl Street.
