Soweto Gospel Choir - Hope: It’s Been a Long Time Coming Tickets

South Africa’s always-uplifting Soweto Gospel Choir returns with an inspiring, feel-good program entitled Hope: It’s Been a Long Time Coming.

Dressed in vibrant colors and harmonizing in either English or one of eight South African languages, the choir melds together African and American musical influences, from gospel to Christian to pop and Broadway covers.

In an NPR interview, singer Sipokazi Luzipo talks about the group’s spirited performances: "because we're such a young group, we've got energy just oozing in our bodies, and we can never sing a song and just stand. The rhythm is in our bodies. The minute the drum goes, our bodies go with it. That's just who we are as young South Africans."
